Today as I got ready for work I noticed that my stomach was a bit bigger than usual. I feel really bloated and cranky. Now ladies we know what this means. Time for aunt Flow's visit! Or at least we are hoping.

Well as I am at work at MAC a very sweet lady with my name sake asked me "when are you due honey?" WTF!?!? Is it really that bad? I politely told her I wasn't and she said "oh" and I stood up straight and she said it was just the way I was leaning on the counter and standing. Man!!!! Seriously, it is time for me to take off these extra pounds I have put on since November. I know that it is winter weight but still not okay.

I am signing up for WW and going to the Y to start working out.

I need all your support on this.

Have you ever had a day where you think or even say out loud....
"that's it! I can not take it anymore! I hate what I am doing! I am giving up, it's not worth it!"

Well I have had that kind of a month, last month that is. It was the worst month I have had at the salon. I kept feeling put down, ignored, stressed, all around just not good feeling. Early this week I got a written warning saying that if I didn't not improve this month with bringing in new clients I would be talked to or let go. I started stressing. Now I love LOVE doing hair, but sometimes greater loves come along. But for me this was only because I was being bogged down with high expectations. I didn't really feel like I fit in at my salon due to a stupid personality test we took. I was one of 2 people who were not close or the same as others and found out that half of my team just didn't get me.

I sat down with Colin and a few friends throughout the next couple of days and thought about my options.
#1- I could quit and just leave a place where I didn't feel I could be myself or express my love for hair.
#2- I could stick it out and just deal with feeling bad and wait until I got let go.
#3- I could try my best an show my efforts and hope that was enough.

My emendate choice was #1. Why should I stay somewhere I can't be myself? Why should I have to change who I am to fit in... I am not in middle school!!!

I decided to not make any rash decisions and slept on it. After chatting with my manager at MAC I decided to give it my best shot and see how it works out. I can not promise I will meet their expectations or that in march I will still be doing hair there but at least I can try and not give up.

I also realized that my MAC family does care about me even though I am a freelance artist.
My heart is totally torn between wanting to just do freelance and work on my craft/clothing line and doing hair.

At this point in my life I thought I would have it all figured out. I would be successful and happy in all I am doing. And to be frank and honest... I have no idea! Maybe I just like too many things. Maybe I should just stick to one thing... But what fun is that?

I would love to hear what you all have to say about this matter. Spill your advice!

Colin and I stayed a few days after our wedding before heading out for our honeymoon trip to Las Vegas, just to be able to see The National play in Tucson. It was so sweet to be able to spend a few extra days with family in town and not to mention be able to say that we saw The National as our first show as a married couple...(cue mush here!)

I can not express to you what a funk I have been in lately. I miss my friends. I miss my family. I miss being able to go to a store I know I will find what I am looking for and not have to pay a million dollars for fabric. I miss being inspired by those around me for most were creators as well. But with this I need to learn to not lean on others for strength but myself. Now this is not to say that I have not met a few creative ladies here in town, but you know what I mean. I miss the people who are real with me.

Recently Colin and I had a misfortune of finding out just exactly how little we matter in this town. We were booked a few months ago for an art show for First Thursdays at a local shop. When Colin went in to talk to the owners to see if they needed any info, pictures or anything for the paper they told us they cancelled our show and put someone else in. Heated he left the shop and we have decided to no longer support that store. It is a sad thing when people are suppose to be your friends and lack communication with you, or even others. I will say a week later I got a call from one of the owners to say they were sorry, but to me it still was not enough.

I have decided to dig deep and do what I love. I am starting a blank drawing board for a new Spring Line for Golly. Tex and I are looking into expanding Lonely Quail and actually getting stuff listed on our store site. I am also helping a couple of friends with photo shoots this next two weeks. I could not be happier knowing that to some people in this small town I do matter and they see what I am capable of. I may not be known in this town for my clothing designs, great barista and baking skills, as the bicycle couple or even hair stylist, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve and this town is going to drop jaws when they see what they have been missing.

happy birthday- Lizz

Today is one of best friend's birthday; LIZZ!

If you don't already read her blog, follow her on facebook or heard of her outstanding clothing line... then you are seriously missing out!

Little back story on how we met...

Back in 2005 Lizz was getting her hair cut with Jennifer, the girl I apprenticed under while I was in beauty school. She was also selling some of her hair painted bags, slips and paintings at the salon we worked at. I fell in love with one of her bags (and all of it really!) and Jennifer got it for me for my birthday. She introduced me to Lizz as I had seen her out and about more times than not on the dance floor of Club Congress. She seemed to be one of the raddest girls I had ever met. She was so talented and I envied her talent. I was asked to do hair for her fashion show in the fall and was honored! I had such a blast! She kept me under her wing and backstage getting her killer cupcakes ready to strut their stuff. A show or two later she asked me to model for her (she loves the curvy ladies!) and I did a couple shows for her. I started at that time making hair accessories and she used them for her shows. She saw a few things I had made or altered and encouraged me to start making more. In 2008 I debuted my Clothing line along side her (but mostly with her help!). She continued to help me grow as a hair stylist backstage for her as well as my models and as a clothing designer. Every show she would push me to be better, even if she didn't realize it! We grew very close and worked on over a dozen shows together.

blah blah blah and the list goes on on how much she has helped me grow as a person....

But she is an amazing person!

She started Tucson Fashion Week and is working so hard at trying to help young designers grow and start a revolution in Tucson.

Either way make sure you stop by her blog or Face book and wish her a happy birthday.

I am sorry I am unable to be there to celebrate with you love.

happy new year!!

So Colin and I didn't end up doing anything special last night. He went snow boarding during the day and I kinda knew he would be tuckered out by the time he got home. I would have gone with him, but I promised a friend I would do her makeup for her NYE party and I am glad I did. She looked amazing!

At any rate, we decided to just go to a hockey game(again, two nights in a row). After the game we were both starting to get tired. Colin passed out in bed and I tossed and turned all night so I watched a lifetime movie. At midnight I gave Colin a big sleepy kiss and little Dexter too. Tossed and turned a little more and finally was able to fall off to sleep a few hours later.

I have a few goals in mind for the year and I hope to start them out on the right track.

#1. spend less money

#2. buy more local

#3. dress my best and take pictures

(this has been one for years and I can't seem to get a grip on it)

#4. Treat my body well... with fitness, eating and what I say about it

#5. Let things go more... relax!

#6. explore my new town

#7. create more

#8. drink more water than anything else

#9. say no more often

(I have trouble with always saying yes and getting upset that I get walked all over)

#10. be more active with Colin and try new adventures

These are just a few of the things I would like to work on for my own sanity, not just because it is a new year, though that is when everyone seems to set goals. It is a new beginning of sorts.

So here are some outfits from 2011 that I thought I liked or looked good.... but were sad attempts and ended up being a waste of money and space. Hitting the bargin bins, racks and thrift stores are not always the best way to save money.

This sweater... too frumpy, made me look huge!

This Jacket, I loved it! Unfortunately not everything is as comfortable when sitting down as it is standing up. I got it for riding the motorcycle, sitting for long rides...So it was a bummer.

This tank... I wanted one for so long and I found it for like $5... Again it was too big and I thought I could wear it anyway and it just gapped too much.

This top & skirt. I loved this combo but the only way I could wear this top was tucked in to a skirt. Well the skirt was old and started looking too ratty.

So not everything I purchased on sale or at a thrift store made it into the donate pile, but a lot of it did for sure. I have a bad habit of buying on sale and not always trying things on first. Or when I do I am in a rush or alone and don't get opinions.

This year one of my many things to work on is to only buy staple items that I can mix and match that are of good quality not quantity.... I can not wait to go through my closet again and donate a bunch more. I do not wear as much as I should in my closet.

and it gave me an excuse to wear my new snow boots Colin got me.

This is my all time favorite Holiday song and these two guys are so LOVELY! Seriously they have good voices and Donald knows how to wale! I love this rendition. I hope you all had a great Holiday.

Colin and I opened gifts last night since he is working tonight he needed to sleep today. We got to skype with his mom, brother and sister. It was fun, I have never skyped before and it was fun to be able to chat with them all at the same time. Especially Russ, he cracks me up! But of course it makes me miss my in laws like crazy. Holidays are always a little confusing for me, since I am not super close to any family (in distance for sure this year).

I also got to talk with my uncle who is living with my grandparents down in Florida. My pop pop is not doing well at all, and hearing it today really gave me the perspective that I need to reach out to my family a little bit more. My first love ever was my pop pop and I know that when I lose him, I am going to be a complete mess. (Like needing weeks off work kinda mess). Anyhow, this is not to bring anyones spirits down, Just remember that the greatest gift we are given really is life and love. Cherish it daily, not just on holidays.

The weather has been super chilly still (as if that will change anytime soon)

I have just been super busy working this week now that my cold has subsided for the time being I am sure. I have been at the salon and Mac a lot helping people get pretty for the Holidays.

All Saints- Vegas

While in Vegas last weekend, Colin and I stopped in the newest hotel "the Cosmopolitan". INside we found some pretty fancy stuff. A chandelier bar and All Saints. I was in complete awe of this stores layout, displays and pretty decent style of clothing. (more for guys than the ladies)

I couldn't help but turn every corner and take a picture of it to share with you all.

As you can see all of the racks were made from old Factory sewing machines/ equipment. It was beautiful!!!

I thought I would share 11 things I am thankful for... for 2011.

In no particular order....

My husband who deals with all the crap I toss his way. He makes me laugh and smile even when I don;t want to because I am a grump. He loves me no matter what I do.

Our loving best friends Al, Lindsey, Kiki, and Matt. These guys are our family from Tucson who we miss and every time we see them it is always a great time. It only makes it harder to leave them

Lizzie. Without her I would not have learned as much as I have in the past few years. She put all her trust in me for years to make sure her models looked great before hitting the runway and also took me under her wing to guide me into the fashion world.

Not to mention the long talks/calls of me crying about nothing at all.

My In-Laws Albert and Carol. Seriously I love these two so much and they have supported Colin and I through all sorts of things in the past 4 years. I miss them so much!

My mom! She came out for a visit and sat around while I did a handmade holiday show and supported me in it all. She tried so hard to sell all my stuff. She has always supported me in my Art endevers.

Scout. No matter what this girl loves me. She seriously makes me smile just knowing she will be so happy to see me when I come home. She has grown up so much in the past two years and is such a great doghter. (dog daughter)

My besite Jessica(Tex). She knows me so well it is crazy! We almost always think the same things and she taught me how to knit. Without her, I know I would go crazy.

Having not only one job but two that I am so passionate about. I love working at Lunatic Fringe and learning something new everyday as well at at MAC. I could not be more blessed.

My new friend who I love hanging out with so much, Noelle. She and I get along so well and it is so easy to just talk to her and hangout. I love being able to talk to someone about hair and makeup.

Plus she is bad ass at doing hair!

The Moore's. This couple has seen me go through the hardest time of my life. They were there to scrap me off the floor. I wish I was closer to them, but I am loving the pen pals we have become.

ps. There is so much I am thankful for on a daily basis. Please know that I am very thankful for everyone of my friends, fans of BSB/Golly and readers. I am thankful that I had a group of very lovely ladies in Tucson that modeled for me for 3 years, for the friends I left behind there that were like sisters to me, for my friends in San Diego that I grew up with and also those who support my craft (Beca!) I am also very thankful for the amazing weather Idaho has to offer us. And the friends we have here in town that we (okay I, Colin has to work tonight) get to have dinner with today.

Colin and I drove up to Portland, OR this past weekend to see M83 play. We have both liked them for some time now and I love getting to see bands with him. It is such a rad way to spend an evening together and really enjoy each other's time without having to feel the need to talk or be super romantic. The dance floor had my name on it!

Today Beca, my lovely dear friend posted "a day in the life of my four legged kids". You should go check it out.

I just also wanted to post a little something about Beca. She and I met about 6 years ago if not more in Tucson. She was modeling for my Girl Lizz's clothing line Siobhan. I got to meet her before one of the shows and then started a friendship as I was styling her hair for the shows. Beca is the absolute cutest on the runway. She is so incredibly sweet and it shines through once she hits the stage. I even got the pleasure of her walking my runway for my debut show in August of 2009. Beca and I quickly connected and became friends who also hung out outside of fashion shows. We rode bikes together, went on lunch dates, met up at Congress a few nights a week and got to talk a lot (mostly about boys). Beca has also shown or told me a lot of baking tips. See I love to bake but I don't have all the skill that she does. She seriously makes the best baked goods!!! Beca also gave me a lot of vintage fabric and some antlers for my Fashion show for the First TucsonFashionWeek. It all came together so beautifully(you can see more by clicking here). I wish we still lived near each other so we could hang out, I miss that girl like crazy! She really is the sweetest thing and such a great friend. If anyone isn't already following her adventures on her blog, you totally should!!!

My Apologies! My mom, step dad and brother were in town for the week and it was nice to just have some family time and not be on the computer. I spent most of my time with my mom. I would have loved to spend more alone time with my brother. He is 14 (turning 15 tomorrow~) and had pretty much been raised as an only child. Now my bestie is an only child, but she is very social, where my brother John-Michael is not. He is at that awkward stage where is he is trying to find himself and what his interests are. He stand funny and thinks its cool, he doesn't listen to my parents, he interrupts you because he just wants to be part of the conversation, doesn't think or do anything on his own; etc..... I love him, but I feel I was pretty rough on him while he was here. My mom is so tired of doing everything for him she told me it was okay for me to express my feelings towards things while they were here. So I pretty much laid it on him what I was seeing him do. He didn't like it much, as I am sure if I was his age I wouldn't either.

At any rate.... It was a good time. I got to spend time shopping with my mom. She hasn't bought anything new for herself in years, and he clothes were starting not to fit her anymore. I got to go for a walk with my brother and just chat about school life and stuff. Played a few card games, took them out to eat one night to celebrate JM's birthday. I didn't get to spend any time with my step dad alone though. Sometimes that is better. I have a lot of things to say to him but not all of them are nice and not my place to say, so I usually stay in a group so it doesn't come out. (*there is a huge back story to all this, sorry for not sharing more details)

Things we did do....

*Went to the mall and took my mom shopping so she could get some clothes that fit her better and were more up to date. Also got my brother two pair of jeans that were up to date.
*Colin took Mike(Step dad) and JM for a ride up to Bogus Basin to see the snow (oh yeah we got some snow!) They also went to a motorcycle shop and Cabela's.
*My Bestie came into town for the WINTRY MARKET. My mom helped us out at our booth selling our goods. Check out our blog!
*I did my brother & mom's hair and showed her how she can keep it up at home since she is on a tight budget.
*My mom and I just took a few hours to walk around target together and chat.
* I taught my mom how to knit! She is on a roll!

How to Hair- Second day

So I had some pretty waves left over in my hair from curling it the day before hand. Since I colored my hair darker, I feel that I can get away with second day hair a little better. Not sure why, it just doesn't look as dirty.

So I wanted to share with you a few of my little secrets that help me.

Pre treatment... clip hair up and out of the way when/if you bathe on that second day.

1. Make sure you have a good dry shampoo. I use TIGI- Rockstar, dirty little secret. It will help absorb oils and also give you a little volume.

2. I also use a great root booster the day I style my hair. I feel that it helps keep lift and absorb some of the oils. I use Bumble&bumble Thickening Hair Spray when I blow dry and/or Big Sexy- powder play after it is dry (this stuff is a powder that once you put it on the our hair and create friction it becomes a paste like booster! don't shake the bottle, FYI)

3. Make sure to always keep bobby pins near by. I have them all over the house, just ask Colin. I will twist, braid or just pin my bangs back so they don't get oily.

4. a good brush in the morning will go a long way. Make sure to get those tangles out. You don't want dreads by the end of the day (or do you?)

5. back comb! This 100% of the time saves my style.

I like to fluff throughout the day.

Now that I also have straight across bangs again (oh yeah, I cut my bangs!) I like to spray dry shampoo on them even on days that I wear them down.

There you have it! Second day hair two ways. Of course this is if you want to keep it down for the day. You can always pin it up, toss in a messy bun, wear a hat or scarf.. you know!

happy halloween!

So this year Colin had already decided what he wanted to be. We got invited to a work party by some of his coworkers for Saturday night, so decided to go. I had no idea what I wanted to be. We had a costume contest at the salon, so I dressed up for that but wanted to be something else at night. Here are some pictures I hope you will enjoy.

I try to not really talk about going out and drinking. I am not a huge party girl by any means. But halloween just overcomes me every year and I love to go out and drink. Well we were out for about 3 hours when I realized I could no longer see straight and needed to go home because I was too drunk to be out and was super sick. I had way way way too much to drink in a very short amount of time. I guess it was the lumber jack in me.

It was a fun night while we were there, but yesterday I woke up still drunk. It was a horrible feeling! I honestly never want to drink that much again and I feel that maybe my favorite drink of 7&7 is now ruined from that night :(

Moral of the story, if you are not a 300lb. lumber jack in real life, don't try to drink like one.

Moderation is key!

Product review- MAC

ok okay, Just because I do freelance does not mean that I am bias.(*winkwink*) But on a serious note I had never had to order online with them before, so this is really my first time getting to review how my experience was.

When the box was dropped off at my door, I knew who it was from right away. I love that it is a basic unmarked black box. CLASSY!

When I opened it I was also surprised by all the black tissue paper. They even provided return labels if I needed to return anything. Which I did not!

I was able to get a brush belt, 100 makeup wipes, blush pallet with 3 blushes, 2 mascaras, lip liner, 2 brow pencils, prep & prime face and a lip glass.

All my goodies came in the prefect packages you get at a pro store. I didn't get as much as I would have liked to, but this momma is on a budget. I was able to get all you see for less than $175. Now I know some of you may be thinking $175 is a budget? Well... for me, YES. I have a smaller kit I have accumulated over the past 3 years and believe me it is well over a thousand dollars. But it is still lacking a lot!

And my favorite item I got was my brushes belt. I have been dreaming about having this fora while and think it just sets the tone for when I do freelance jobs.

I was able to get 2 day shipping for $5. SRSLY!!! and I did not get charged any tax. I am lucky enough to have a pro card so I do get a discount and the ability to order online. I will definitely use this all the time, like needing a few more things for the wedding next weekend.

I was 100% satisfied with my products (duh!) But the packaging is was more than up to par for me. I can not wait to see what my next order looks like.

I will say that I do miss going into my pro store in Tucson and seeing my lover boy Tony.

So I have always been a fan of both Drake and Rihanna. Drake is seriously super sexy to me. I have a weird thing about very clean cut but a little rough/ghetto guys. I know what you are thinking..."WTF?!" yeah I know. I grew up in San Diego from 3rd grade to middle of freshman year. Up until the middle of 7th grade I was a little ghetto myself. I grew up around a lot of ethnic kids and loved dance. So I learned how to dance from them. I still love going to a club and getting all kinds of ghetto booty shakin' on the dance floor. I am sure you can imagine the looks I get. Well Drake is one of the guys that make me want to move my body like I use to so often.

Since Colin and I moved, we have only been out once here when our Tucson RN family came to visit in July. We didn't dance much but I am so lucky to have another inner ghetto friend Lindsay to dance with. I am so excited to be going to Las Vegas in a few weeks with my RN family again for my "brother's" Birthday celebration.

Super Secret.... When Colin goes to work on the weekends at night, I put on booty shorts and dance around the house to hip hop. I am sure he would love to walk in on that one night. haha!

Ps. Seriously how efing cute has Rihanna become? Her red hair is outstanding and her "bedroom" outfit makes me swoon. I want to wear an over sized sweat shirt and thigh high socks and look that great!

style Saturday- smoky eyes

So I am seriously in love with playing around with the smoky eye look for Fall- Day Time. I don't mind a more dramatic look for the evening, but for me, it makes me look a little spooky

(which isn't too bad during October, right?)

Well I have been playing with some color combos for the look and here are just a few of what I have done recently, mostly for working at the salon. I will be posting a how to on Tuesday btw.

how to hair- no heat curls

I have seen a few different bloggers post about ways to get curls with out any heat.

Some use the rag curl method and others the band method.

I chose to do the band and see how it turned out.

This is the video I based mine off of.

All you do it wear an elastic band around your head and tuck the hair around it in a spiral.

Let it dry.

Tale out, brush and style.

I actually chose to wear mine like this the day before.

And my finished style.

These curls turned out really cute. Had I used a thiner elastic band I am sure my curls would have been tighter as well.

food friday, breakfast

I know it is late and almost Saturday but I wanted to share what I have been eating in the mornings. It has been getting chilly here and finally feeling like fall should, so Colin and I have been stocking up on hot chocolate, apple cider and oatmeal.
Now I grew up with oatmeal, grits and cream of wheat in my house. I hated oatmeal and loved the other two. As an adult I am slowly learning to love them all. Colin enjoys oatmeal and eats it even when it is warm outside (when I grab for the "life" cereal).
So I wanted to share a few ways to make oatmeal, grits and cream of wheat/rice.

1. Oatmeal- colin likes his with a little milk and nut mix for added protein to whichever flavor he picked. (we buy the instant oatmeal packets)
I will usually only eat the maple and brown sugar, with nothing else added to it.

2. Grits- I LOVE them, Colin does not (which means more for me!) I add about a table spoon of butter a dash of sea salt and crushed pepper. I love it with eggs over medium and toast, but since I have been cutting breads out of my regular diet and only using egg whites from the carton, I just eat it by it's lonesome.

3. Cream of Wheat or Rice- I have been using the Rice kind, just trying to be more cautious of glutens. I like it with a little cinnamon, agave nectar and bananas.

All Three of these are so filling and just help keep me full throughout my work day. I always forget to pack a lunch for work, so it is kind of my way of cheating and allows me to actually sit down and relax before heading out the door in the chilly air.

Somedays it is really hard for me to wake up and feel good about just waking up. I know that is a very real thing for me to say, but I am a real person after all. Not everyday is going to be peaches and cream. I woke up to a text from my mom that my pop pop (grandfather) had a series of mini strokes and was in the hospital and she was going down there on Saturday. I slightly lost control and started sobbing. I was just thinking about him last night when Colin and I were watching "green mile"(i was crying during that movie too). I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve and not everyone likes it (including my job, which is understandable). I needed to chat with my boss about it and almost needed to go home if I didn't change my attitude. At my salon there is no room for feeling down. So I had to dig into my little bag of things I need to remember to cheer myself up. Here is one of them.

Halloween is coming up and i loved seeing Suki in her hot dog costume from last year.

knits and wits

Usually I post something about hair or makeup on Tuesday and Wednesday, but not this week. My videos aren't loading right and I am so not computer savy that I have yet to figure out why. I thought making a youtube account would help, but it didn't. So I will be back next week with a picture tutorial for both hair and makeup.

But I did want to share what I will be up to for the next three weeks. I was over at Delightfully Tacky's blog today and she had shared some remix photos of her outfit. I saw that she had posted some pictures of Keiko Lynn wearing the same dress as remixes. In the last photo of Keiko I was inspired to make sure I knitted as much as possible for three weeks. It was already on my list of things to do, but this affirmed that I needed to make some longer scarves as well as some cute cowls.

anniversary(s)

Today is Colin and I's one year anniversary of being married! This is our first year celebrating an anniversary of any sorts. Even when we were dating, we didn't celebrate being together. This is also the first time with any guy I dated that I can say I had a real anniversary of any sorts with. All others were less than a full year(breaks not included; totally sad huh!) But it just means that I picked the right man for my life.

I will also give a little advice to all my lovely ladies out there. MARRIAGE IS HARD WORK! and like everyone says, seriously the first year is the hardest for whatever reason, but just know that everything is worth the work. The best advice I was given was from my bestie Tex's mom the night before her wedding saying "girls, there will be days that you just plain out do not like him, but as long as you know that you still love him, it is all worth it." So true Donna!!! I like to keep telling myself that everyday. It takes work, dedication and a whole lot of LOVE.

Last week Leo had a weird sneeze, so we took him in to the vet. They said they weren't sure what it was, but it could be a number of things. They gave him a little shot and he started feeling better a few days later. That is after he gave the sickness to Penny and Dex. Poor babies! This house has been full of sneezing cats for two weeks. Dexter is the worst by far though. Everytime I look over at him he has snot all over his face. I wipe it witha klenex and he hates it just like any 8 year old boy would. I can imagine him saying..."mom...... stop that hurts, I can't breathe when you do that!"

You can see Dex sitting as close by as I will let him while I drink my apple cider.

This song is a song that makes me cry every single time I hear it. It makes me think of my brother Gregory for some reason. Not because we had a weird lover thing, but because I first heard this song right before we "broke up". My brother told me that he didn't love me anymore and that I was not the sister he once knew and looked up to. Sad I know! But either way, here is one of my all time favorite songs. It has been officially a year now since I last saw him and it hurts just as much today as it did the last time I saw him and he turned and walked the other direction to not have contact with me.

What do you guys think of that duo? Pretty good huh?! I like that they took their own spin on it and didn't try to sound just like Adele.

Do you ever feel like no matter how hard you try to get stuff done you just keep falling behind, something else gets in the way, you forget what all there is to do, or that time seriously just flies by?

Yeah!! About that...
Every single day of my life.
I stayed up late nearly everyday this week. When I did get to sleep I would remember I forgot to do something during the day and toss and turn all night.

I had my first "market" on Thursday night. I brought all my backstock to sell as well as some stuff Tex and I have been working on. It was a very slow night. The weather has been nice and rainy (excluding today) so there wasn't much action going on. I feel I may have had too much merch. Is that possible..? Yes!! It totally overwhelms to viewers/buyers eye. I wish I would have just stuck with one or the other. I feel that my clothing would have sold well if it was in a better spot and also posted that there was a dressing room inside the shop.

I did sign up for the late November show, but not sure I want to do it. I got asked to participate in two other shows. One of which I already turned down and the other I think I am going to do.

I feel like time is flying by and I don't have the energy to do all that I need to do.
Speaking of.. I need to take pictures for my etsy and shopenvy sites.

While I was doing my reading of blogs this morning I was over at keikolynn.com looking through her backstage post for MAC. One of the hair stylists looks so much like Colin right before I cut his hair that I had to do a double take.(and save the picture of course to share).

my week in instagram v.11

I started the weekly post of my instagram photos, so it was an easier way for me to post pictures of my outfits I wore durring the week. Once I started the job at the salon, I have only been taking pictures of my face. I am sorry for that.

So here are the pictures I took this week that were not from my mini road trip with Colin.

I got to meet with some of my instagram friends.

They are seriously some rad people and I am so glad I got to meet them in real life.

I wore a cute maxi dress to work and out on Wednesday

Took some pictures of the scarf that LQ is giving away next week.

And Noelle and I stayed after work on Saturday to color each other's hair.

This was just the start.

So if any of you have instagram, you know that there was an update. Well now the update does not save your photos to your library anymore. So freaking mad!

Maybe that is why it seems like I didn't take many photos this week.

Anyhow, this week there will be more changes happening on the blog.

I think I am going to do the 30x30 challenge. What do you guys think? Would you like to see that?

I have been obsessing over Florence's red hair. I have been between the red and brown for a while now on what to do with it. For the Fall though I went dark, as I shared a little picture last night.

But about the music... I love this song. I can seriously listen to it several times a day. We listened to it when we took our drive to Hells Canyon. It seemed fitting.

We actually saw a couple of deer families, but didn't want to spook them, so we just watched. I find it really hard to get my camera or phone out when I see deer. They are so peaceful I feel weird about it.

Well I just got home from work, yes seriously at 1 in the morning.

Noelle and I decided to do each other's color tonight after work hours.

I have been eyeing up going dark for some time now, but have been afraid I would look too much like my sister. I felt like I did while I was trying to decide on bangs.

I have always had bangs of some sort.

I think I am going to let them grow for a little while longer because I love being able to pin them back.

So Now I am snacking on some crackers and getting ready for bed.

The post of pictures from yesterday will be joined with music tomorrow. There is a little song or two that I just love to listen to while traveling through nature, so it works out perfectly.

I took a little break yesterday from the world and Colin and I took off to visit Baker City and then continued on to Hells Canyon. I am heading off to work for a little bit this afternoon, but will be back with pictures from our trip.

I am skipping food friday and style Saturday.

how to hair

Today I am sharing a little product from Golly

as well as a hair style

I don't mind the look of a the turban, but for me it is too much material on my head. So I came up with a smaller version and with lace.

What you will need...

1. dirty or clean hair

2. about 5 minutes

3. curling iron if desired

4. lace and bow hair band from golly (coming soon)

I started with clean hair that was loosely curled

I used Bumble and Bumble "does it all hair spray"

Grab your hair band

Place it over the top of your head like a crown

Make sure to straighten the band on each side of your head so that the fabric isn't all twisted

and place the bow to your liking.

I placed mine at the side of my bangs on my part.

make sure it feels secure in your hair.

I make sure the back side areas are covering my ears so they don't stick out from under my hair.

tada!

It will bump your hair up just a little.

I find that this is a great way to get away with second or third day hair. Just spray a little dry shampoo on those roots and go.

This past week I worked a few extra days for the girls at work, so I did not take any pictures really.

Wednesday, I just wasn't feeling the day.

Saturday night Noelle and I went on a late night talk date.

We got dessert from Goldy's Corner Cafe.

It was so crazy to see all the people out and drunk. There was a home football game for BSU and everyone was enjoying their victory. But really, people wear some of the craziest stuff and act so dumb when they are drunk. Not to mention on our walk back to my apartment, which is just 3 blocks away we had to go around because my street was blocked off. There were cops and paramedics all over.

Someone got stabbed!

Sunday I was so tired from staying up late. I slept in until noon. Didn't shower until 3pm and after walking Colin to work at 6:30pm, I just wanted to get right back into my pjs.

Sad I know! and to think I didn't even drink the night before.

And today!

I started running again! This is the aftermath of my 2 miles.

food friday, dinner fail!

Well truth be told...
Last night's dinner was a disaster! I tried making spaghetti squash for the first time. We had a few different recipes and went with the simple one, baking it for 45 minutes. I added an eggplant to the mix, therefore did not put the suggested water in the bottom of the pan. After 45 minutes the eggplant was done (or nearly done) but the squash was still hard. So we added water and continued to bake it for another 30 minutes. It still did not turn out and after being at work, I was so hungry as was Colin that we gave up. We snacked on the eggplant but it just wasn't enough.

I completely failed.... I went to Mc Donalds. Gross I know! And this morning and last night my body was hating me for it. This is why there was not a post of my what was suppose to be good and healthy dinner.

All I can say is that I tried. Next time I know to add the water right away and also not be so hungry expecting dinner so quick like.

So to make it up to you all I will give you the recipe to my favorite morning treat on Monday night. Why a morning treat at night you ask.... Well I bake every Monday night for my Cutting club on Tuesday mornings. (Cutting Club is held at work learning new haircuts/ techniques). It is my way to give back to the girls for coming in early at the beginning of the week.
